My Favorite Cover

The editors’ description of the cover: "American Photohas devoted the heart of its September/October issue to an 18-page oral history of 9/11/01 based on the recollections of the photographers who risked their lives to cover the story. Though there was no shortage of iconic images we could have used, in this case, we felt less was more. The somber black and white image (shot by NYU student Yoni Brook) projected a reflective calm and quiet emblematic of the story we were telling. After much internal discussion, we opted to remove all cover lines apart from the minimalist one you see here."

This is a good photo or cover because it is environmental and it shows everything. They show one person in the center of the photo all alone around the ruins. It makes you feel sad because in this photo it looks like he is the only survivor. And the light was a good light, and also the black and white.

Vocab

My Holiday

1. Tell me what is the one thing that happened on your holiday that you will remember? It can be a trip, a family visit, a present, something fun.
We had my family come down to the house and we all shared memories from our childhood and how everything has changed now.
2. What are your resolutions for the 2013 year?
To do better in school and put my head in football and school.

3. What are you looking forward to in 2013?
I am looking forward to my last football season in my high school career.

2012 in review

1. What was the best song of 2012?
For me the best song of 2012 was "The Vent" by Kirko Bangz because it shows you that we all have problems and that you will be able to get through it. It might be hard at first but you can always get through it no matter what.

2. What was the best movie of 2012?
To me the best movie of 2012 was then new batman movie. it was one of the best movies for me because it shows that even though we over come things there are sometime time when we fall and he have to work hard to get back to what we had and do better for our selfs and others.

3. What was the most important news story of the year?
I think one of the most important news stores of the year was the rise gas prizes. i think it was one of the most important because we rely on gas so much to warm our house and power our cars, and the gas prizes going up won't be so good for us cause it is running out and soon we won't be able to rely on that anymore.

4. Who was the most important person of 2012?
I think the most important person in 2012 was Jeremy Lin. he was one of the most important people because he beat a whole bunch of stereo types for being and asian-american. and it influenced a lot of kids that they can do what ever you can put your mind to, and not to let people push you down.
